About FibriTech

We are an innovative biomaterials company shaping the future of sustainable horticulture. At FibriTech, we develop and implement ecological, 100% peat-free substrates for hydroponic cultivation, seedling production, and microgreens farming. Our solutions support sustainable food production, and our team focuses on innovation, reliable science, and ecology.

You are a perfect match if:

  • You have the soul of a researcher and a detective combined – you love discovering new things, but you also understand the necessity of daily, repetitive measurements of certain parameters, knowing that meticulously collected data on pH, EC, or growth rates is the key to the success of any cultivation.
  • Plants are your passion – you have a “green thumb” and notice the slightest changes in leaf appearance.
  • You act proactively and with initiative – if a tested system requires a quick reaction, modification, or you simply see that something can be done better, you roll up your sleeves and propose solutions instead of waiting for ready instructions.
  • You are driven by innovation and ecology – you believe that the future of horticulture lies in sustainable, peat-free solutions and want to have a real impact on their development.
  • You feel comfortable in a dynamic R&D environment – you understand that in research, not everything goes according to plan. You are flexible, and a negative experiment result is simply another piece of valuable information for you, from which you can draw constructive conclusions.
  • You understand that the product is the ultimate goal and are comfortable being involved in partner and customer discussions, documentation, and legal processes (e.g. application for approval…).

Your responsibilities:

  • Planning, setting up, conducting, and monitoring test cultivations.
  • Testing new and improving current formulations of soilless substrates.
  • Analyzing and optimizing specific physicochemical properties of substrates.
  • Conducting measurements of physicochemical parameters (e.g., pH, EC control) and observing plant developmental phases.
  • Meticulously collecting data from experiments, performing basic analysis, and preparing reports on conducted trials.
  • Collaborating with external laboratories and scientific institutions to commission additional analyses and interpret their results.
  • Collaborating on the design and construction of prototype cultivation systems on a laboratory scale.
  • Taking care of the research infrastructure and ensuring the proper execution of laboratory/greenhouse processes.
  • Managing laboratory resources and cultivation materials (ordering seeds, fertilizers, reagents) and maintaining contact with suppliers.
  • Tracking current market trends and reviewing scientific literature in the field of modern agricultural materials and soilless systems.
  • Planning, executing, and reporting on research projects, including grant applications.

    Our requirements:

    • Higher education (min. Bachelor’s/Engineer’s degree) in biotechnology, biology, horticulture, or a related field.
    • Practical knowledge of horticulture, plant physiology, basics of mineral nutrition, and soil science.
    • Understanding of the specifics of hydroponic cultivation (practical knowledge of soilless systems is a plus).
    • Accuracy, systematic approach, and the ability to reliably document research results.
    • Ability to draw analytical conclusions based on collected data.

    Nice to have:

    • Experience working in an R&D department or/and on a horticultural farm.
    • Knowledge of statistical analysis methods.
    • Interest in modern agriculture (urban farming).
